Abstract:

This panel will have women from Engineering disciplines in industry and academia across the world. Panelists will bring in their experiences of how they got there, the life in industry/academia, how they overcome the challenges and find a growth path, and what more can be done to encourage more women to be successful in life. The panel will also discuss different opportunities in academia, industry and career growth prospects there.

Biography of Panelists

Dr. Usha Gogineni is the Director for EDA (Electronic Design Automation) in ams-OSRAM, India. Her team develops novel solutions and methodologies for compact modelling, and analog and digital design enablement. Usha holds an MS degree from Auburn University and a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her professional interests include semiconductor technology development, reliability, compact modelling, and design enablement. Prior to joining ams, Usha was with Maxim Integrated, Bangalore and IBM Microelectronics in the U.S.

Dr. K. Anitha Sheela, Professor & former Head of ECE Department, JNTUH College of Engineering, JNTUH, Hyderabad, has obtained her B. Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from R.E.C Warangal and M .Tech from College of Engineering, Osmania University, and Ph.D. from JNT University. She has served as Coordinator, Exam branch, JNTUH, Additional Controller of Exams, Officer I/C exams, JNTUHCEH, Coordinator, Industry Institute Interaction Cell, Co-Coordinator for TEQIP-III( A World Bank funding Project) and Coordinator, Academic Audit Cell, JNTUH Hyderabad.

Dr. Sailaja Kumari M, Professor, Department of EE, NIT Warangal. She has served as Head of the Department, Faculty advisor – Technozion 2018, Chairperson, Women Protection cell, Associate Dean (Administration) & Deputy Registrar (Administration), Faculty advisor – IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch, Member – TEQIP-II – IMC, Member – Women cell, Faculty advisor of Electrical Engineering association, Central Counseling Board member for AIEEE admissions, Warden – Ladies Hostel, Timetable in-charge, Treasurer of Electrical Engineering Association.

 

Dr. Lakshmi B, Professor, Department of ECE, NIT Warangal has obtained her Ph.D (VLSI Architectures) from I.I.T, Kharagpur. She has served as Head of the Department, Deputy Chief Warden for Ladies Hostels, Associate Dean Student welfare and Faculty in-charge (Internet-LAN).
